The Oxford Chess Pieces are a classical interpretation of the 1849 Staunton set. They have been meticulously carved, turned, polished and finished such that they present themselves in a position of strength. The attractive Black Anegre and Maple board comes from Rechapados Ferrer of Spain. The glossy Black Anegre contrasts nicely against the light clean Maple veneer. The board has nice crisp clean lines that go well with a traditional decor. This is a very nice set that has understated power and confidence that is underlined by a remarkable board. This set includes 4 Queens.
