In 1812 the French army led by Napoloeon Bonaparte invaded Russia in an attempt to defeat Tsar Alexander I’s Russian army. Known as the Patriotic War Of 1812, this epic conflict has gone down in history as one of the greatest battles of the long Napoleonic Wars.

The masterful chess craftsmen at Italfama in Florence, Italy have given these two legendary armies the miniature treatment – creating two sets of beautifully cast and hand-painted chess armies with an exceptional level of detail.
