Highly detailed and superbly finished, the Reproduction Staunton Chess Pieces 1849 Model 4.4 inch King are handcrafted in Ebony and Boxwood in the world famous and classic Staunton design. Created by the same chess workshop that produces some of the world's finest chess pieces, this fine set has been turned from solid wood then painstakingly carved with beautiful detail.

At 4.4 inches, the King is an imposing figure, and along with his supporting army, is perfectly weighted for balance with billiard cloth covered bases.

The Ebony quality makes this set not only an enviable acquisition but also a good investment and heirloom for future generations.

For the King’s height and broad base in this set, these lovely chess pieces are best matched with boards from 21 inches and above with larger squares.
